OK. We should not underestimate ourselves but then how to avoid over-estimate? Confusianism say we should follow "in-between" philosophy and the problem for us is to be clearly aware of the place/position where we stand!
Can You give me a hint ? Please understand I am truly sincere to ask you this favor ( not a challenging question whatsoever).
Please do not underestimate yourself and your abilities.
I can feel your sincerity so there is no need to explain it.
The real challenge that is always with us is our ego-mind, comparing with others and feeling under or over somebody in various fields from physical, mental, emotional or spiritual realms.
I can share my view with you rooting in the Buddhist doctrine of Tantric Buddhism.
The real wisdom is the Wisdom of Equality, represented by Buddha Ratna Sambhava (Born from the Jewel) not only among the humankind but among all sentient beings. Light of Joy is just a tangible ray emanating from this ultimate realm of consciousness.
In every sentient being where the heart beats, there is a God's spark or Buddha seed and in that position, we are all equal.
Knowing this and applying in daily life brings you to another wisdom, that perform best deeds effortlessly producing bright karma and firm advance on the spiritual path.
There is one joke from Zen school, when one candidate for monk was answering questions on some examination. He was asked by the teacher, what is the difference between him and Gautama Siddhartha (The Buddha). The student, overwhelmed by the importance of the examination, was reciting all the deeds of the Buddha for 2 hours, making him God versus his minority.
The teacher was not satisfied and shortly answered: "There is no difference, only he was aware of this and YOU ARE NOT".

TRUST YOURSELVES if you don't trust yourself, who else will??
quote Nelson Mandela:
"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate
Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure
It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us
we ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented and fabulous?
Actually, who are you not to be?
You are a child of God.
Your playing small doesn't serve the world.
There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel
insecure around you
We are born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us.
It's not just in some of us, it's in everyone.
And as we let our own light shine,
We unconsciously give other people permission to do the same.
As we are liberated from our fear,
Our presence automatically liberates others"
