Spirituality How spiritually "free" are you, really? Let's discuss how LIBERATING your ideas might be. Especially on subjects such as freedom from mental suffering, about serving mandkind, compassion, awareness, spiritual wisdom, enlightenment...
Defiled by passion, the mind is not released. Defiled by ignorance, discernment does not develop. Thus from the fading of passion is there release of awareness. From the fading of ignorance is there release of discernment.

Thanks for the very interesting discussion.
Passion, such a beautiful word, but do we really know what it means? Basically all words are neutral (zero) and such a neutral aspect only gets a meaning when we attach a meaning to it. If we think that passion leads to sorrow and fear, then it does.
If the Buddha talks of passion, does all passion lead to fear and sorrow??
To really grasp the meaning of words, listen and feel the sounds and their frequencies in your heart/soul.
I fully realize that I also use words to convey what I mean, you can’t see my face, don’t hear my voice and these also add to the meaning and intention I want to share.
Our souls come from the same Light and souls need no words. As we all chose to be on earth now, we only have to remember the Light we are.
Aren’t we all taught compassion (literally “means”: with passion).
It is pleasure to read your words and get in touch with your vibs.
Yet, all the languages do not vibrate at the same level due to the tradition of the nation that created it.
I've read many complaints of the English translators of the Buddhist (or any oriental written jewels) that English language,as well as other western languages, often does not have any word for Sanskrit terms
Spiritual tradition of India, China or other oriental tradition is much longer than the average western spiritual tradition, mostly concentrated around Christianity with all its denominations.
So, any translation from the original text loses much of the meaning and the original vibration of the word/thought of the author.
The term compassion has its root in passion but it is not the case in Sanskrit, where Karuna is used exclusively for the Universal Compassion as spiritual virtue.
However, angelic language (no sound speaking) is universal and accurate, available to all aware humans and higher beings.
Another excerpt on this topic:
Don't give way to heedlessness
or to intimacy
with sensual delight--
for a heedful person,
absorbed in jhana,
attains an abundance of ease.
